The attaching of the wing is done such a way that the servos are protected in a hard landing.

The profil is Eppler 214.  That is ideal for camber change.  It allows to fly slower for more lift or faster for more penetration.

When the flaps are down the ailerons are helping and the horizontal stabilizer compensates.

In 1987 there were no fancy radios with mix as now.  Most mix are done with mechanic.  The only exception is the aileron-rudder mix.
